About Stainless Steel Casting Parts questions
What is stainless steel investment castings?foundry introduction
Stainless steel casting, or stainless steel investment casting, is the lost wax investment casting process by pouring melton stainless steel into moulds for solidification,
thus to achieve a solid stainless steel component in desired shape.
Stainless steel casting is considered when both the properties of steel and corrosion resistance are required.
So like other cast steel alloys, stainless steel is widely used material for casting production. at present,
the most dimension precision stainless investment casting method is Silica Sol Casting, Dimensional tolerance control in ±0.1mm.
What are the commonly used stainless steel casting materials in foundry?
austenite stainless steel 304/304L(A2 stainless),316/316L/SS316(A4 stainless) castings,Inox 2205 Duplex stainless precision silica sol casting,PH17-4 precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel castings fabrication.what is Austenitic stainless steel?
Non-magnetic, highly formable and can be cold worked, but not heat treated. Austenitic stainless steel is corrosion resistant but prone to stress corrosion cracking. Often used to make shafts, valves, bolts, bushings, nuts, aircraft fittings, brewing equipment, and cryogenic vessels. Austenitic stainless steels are either 200 or 300 series with common grades including 201, 202, 301, 302, 303, 304, 305, 308, 309, 310, 314, 316, 317, 321, 347, 348, and 384.What is Ferritic Stainless Steel ?
Types of Stainless Steel Ferritic: Magnetic with lower ductility and corrosion resistance than austenitic grades. Ferritic stainless steel grades have a high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and can be cold worked, but are not heat treated. Martensitic stainless steels are 400 and 500 series with common grades including 410, 414, 416, 420, 431, and 440.What is Precipitation Hardening Grade Stainless steel?chemical composition modulus of elasticity
Precipitation Hardening Grade: These grades are heat treatable, typically have much higher strength than austenitic stainless steels and retain much of their strength in high temperatures. Often referred to as PH Type stainless steel, and used to make military equipment and aircraft structural components. Common grades include 17-7 PH, PH 15-7 Mo, 17-4 PH, and 15-5 PH.What is Duplex Stainless Steel ?data sheet and mechanical properties

why said 304 Stainless Steel Casting is the most common form? 304(L) SS advantages introduction
304 Stainless Steel Castings
304 stainless steel is the most common grade of stainless steel castings, largely due to its excellent corrosion resistance and value. It contains between 16 and 24 percent chromium and up to 35 percent nickel, as well as small amounts of carbon and manganese. The most common form of 304 stainless steel is 18-8 stainless steel or 18/8 stainless steel, which contains 18 percent chromium and 8 percent nickel.
304 stainless steel has great advantages for casting: it is susceptible to corrosion from chloride solutions, or from saline environments like the coast. Chloride ions can create localized areas of corrosion, called “pitting,” which can spread beneath protective chromium barriers to compromise internal structures. Solutions with as little as 25 ppm of sodium chloride can begin to have a corrosive effect.
304 stainless steel casting in Artisan Industry foundry has the price advantage and good anti-rust property due to its material. The 304 is a steel number for wrought steel, Cast 304 is equivalent to CF8 of the US, or 1.4308 of Germany. 304 can withstand corrosion from most oxidizing acids. That durability makes 304 easy to sanitize, and therefore ideal for manufacturing of food processor, household appliances, lockset, kitchen and sanitary ware, door and window, medical apparatus, architectural ornament, etc. For your information, the 304 stainless steel casting after polishing has a brilliant appearance and decorative effect.
As the 304 stainless steel castings manufacturer and supplier in China, Artisan Industry foundry offers a broad range of custom services including precision machining for 304 stainless steel castings. We can make 304 stainless steel casting with close tolerances using solical sol investment casting process. Of course, we can also produce such stainless steel casting in other grades, such as 316 stainless steel casting, PH17-4 stainless steel casting, and more.

Difference between Stainless Steel Investment Castings vs. Die Casting
Investment casting has significantly cheaper tooling and is a more cost-effective option for lower quantity production runs. Additional benefits include a larger alloy selection and the ability to cast larger pieces.
Difference between Stainless Steel Investment Castings vs. Sand Casting
Investment casting provides a better surface finish and allows for greater design flexibility including the ability to cast thinner walls, create tighter tolerances and create more intricate coring.
Difference between Stainless Steel Investment Castings vs. Machining
Stainless Steel Investment casting can significantly reduce the cost and lower the production time per piece. This is accomplished by producing near net shape parts, while greatly reducing the amount of material waste. In some instances, multiple fabricated parts can be produced as a single casting.
